Dim sum at Tim Ho Wan

The dining scene in Manila has been leveling up for the past couple of years as more restaurants are opening. One of the best places that opened is Tim Ho Wan.

Tim Ho Wan is a Michelin Star restaurant from Hong Kong. It is touted as one of the most affordable Michelin star restaurants and is known for delicious dim sum dishes.

I still remember the time I tried it for the first time years ago in Hong Kong's IFC mall. The place was small and so busy that you really have to be there early.

One of the signature items that people order in Tim Ho Wan is their famous Baked bun with BBQ pork. It is a soft baked bun dish that other Chinese restaurants have tried to copy but I think Tim Ho Wan's BBQ baked bun is still the best.

Their prawn dumplings and pan fried carrot cake are also must try dishes.

For a nice dim sum meal, you might want to try their prawn dumplings, spinach dumplings and a pot of hot Jasmine or Oolong tea.

The food at Tim Ho Wan is affordable since the dim sum dishes range from PHP120 to PHP160 (less than USD5.00  per order). They also offer some rice topping dishes and glutinous rice in lotus leaf for those who prefer to eat rice.

The branches in SM Fashion Hall in Megamall and Glorietta are both full all the time. The best time to visit the place is during off-peak hours or around 2PM to 5PM.
