Red Dot Museum Revisited

I still remember the time when my brother and I went to Singapore a couple of years ago and we visited the Red Dot Design Museum and how I enjoyed looking at the various products in the exhibit that have been given Red Dot design awards.

During a recent trip to Singapore with two of my friends I had a chance to revisit the Red Dot Museum.

If you like design and art then the Red Dot Museum is a good stopover for you during one of your trips to Singapore.

The museum features latest design trends in the international design scene and exhibits various product design and communication design from over 50 countries. The products in the exhibit are winners of the international Red Dot Design Award, one of the world's leading and largest design competitions.

Some of the cool products that I saw are as follows:

BM W bike  Generation III made of high-end Shimano bike components

The UNITED_BOTTLE scenario which is made of PET bottles used as instant building materials
for temporary housing or small-scale structures

Nice  and modern kitchen sink

Kitchen cookware and appliances

Nice toaster, griller, microwave and coffee machine

Cool hand held mixer and food food processor

Wine bottles than can be laid flat

Nice packaging for herbs and spices by Pfeffersack& Soehne
 made of ceramic pots

Cute bee inspired design packaging by Etude for its hand cream
which was used for a campaign for the protection of honey bees

Easy can  packaging which allows the user to place a chopstick
or a pen on top to use it as a lever

Foosball machine made out of cartons

Chairs

Adjustable high tech light. We tried to change the lighting by pressing the buttons
on the wall and we were so impressed with the nice lighting options

Red Dot museum also has  a shop that carries interesting finds.

Deers and horses made from cartons

High tech umbrellas that do not break amidst heavy wind
and shirts that can be easily personalised

Miniature stuff made from paper

Miniature band

Minaiature Chrsitmas set-up

Cool hanging  upside down lamp in front of the museum shop

The Red Dot Museum is easy to find. It is a red building located on 28 Maxwell Road in Singapore.

It is a cool stopover in Singapore for people who like to look at nicely designed and innovative  products.
